'I still splurge on french fries': Cameron Diaz, 41, shares her diet tips and insists she 'loves getting older'
Cameron Diaz is in such excellent shape it could be assumed she has a super strict diet.
But in a new interview with People to promote her upcoming Body Book, the actress-turned-author revealed she gives into cravings.
'I still splurge on french fries,' the 41-year-old confessed. 'Discipline is not deprivation.'
Still the Bad Teacher star has come a long way from her twenties when she was a Drive-Thru queen.
'I used to live on processed fast food,' she admitted. 'I drank a ton of soda and ate greasy, cheesy foods constantly. I'd eat until I hurt myself! I would literally be lying there going, "Why did I do that?"'
She turned around her life when she stopped eating refined sugars and processed foods. 'They are really not meant to be ingested,' the Mask actress added.
'If you understand how your body works you can make the right choices,' she added.
'I used to have bad acne and little white bumps. I cut out dairy and my skin changed completely.'
The leggy lady then shared her favorite meal, which is an odd twist on an old breakfast favorite.
'Savory oatmeal is my favorite thing in the world,' she said.
'I make it al dente, with caramelized leeks, green vegetables and ponzu sauce - so good.' We'll have to take your word on that, Cameron.
The Vogue cover girl - who has been spotted numerous times going back and forth to the gym - also admitted she's not working out as much as she'd like to.
'I'll get back to it,' she promised. 'At least when I'm working, I'm being physical all day. Acting's a very physical job.'
Cameron, who has always kept a positive attitude, is characteristically upbeat about heading toward middle age.
'I love getting older,' she told the magazine.
'It's a part of life. If you're not aging, you're dead!'
