Beyoncé and Jay-Z unveil matching slim bodies after 22-day vegan diet... then celebrate end with a seafood feast
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have successfully completed their plan for 22 days on a vegan diet, and put the body results on show during a romantic outing in Miami on Sunday.
The pair both looked incredibly trim - and oh so stylish - as they stepped out together for a stroll in the city's trendy Wynwood Art District.
The 32-year-old singer wore a brightly coloured lime pencil shirt and orange crop-top with matching heels, while her husband, 44, looked lean in jeans and a T-shirt.
Later the pair celebrated the end of their vegan diet in style, indulging in gourmet non-vegan treats at Miami hot spot Seasalt and Pepper on Sunday.
According to Page Six, the restaurant’s executive chef Alfredo Alvarez approached the music power couple’s table to ask them what they’d like to eat, and the two proceeded to dine on pappardelle, lobster risotto, and seafood casserole.
Afterwards, Jay and Bey ran into singer Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, and the couples snapped a photo together, which Gloria posted on Twitter.
The Conga singer captioned the photo: 'Ran into the incredible @Beyonce & @Jay-Z post Dolphin game @ Sea Salt on the Miami River, sweet, Em was catatonic!'
In the photo, Beyoncé was a vision - girly and youthful in a nautical themed outfit: a navy blue and white striped crop top, exposing several inches of her taut tummy, with a swishy white skirt, and a white hat.
According to E! News, the Drunk in Love collaborators also dined at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Norcross, Georgia over the weekend, before heading south to Miami for more seafood.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé embarked upon the 22 day challenge on December 3, a day before the Hard Knock Life rapper's 44th birthday, which he announced on his Life + Times blog.
'Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way,' he wrote.
'On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!! This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a plant-based breakfast every day. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought…'
The timing of it felt right, he said.
'Why now? There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day…It just feels right!'
The rapper expressed his sense of uncertainty about the future after 22 days.
'I don’t know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We’ll see…'
Based on Sunday's meal out, it seems as though the endeavour has turned out just a temporary spiritual and physical challenge.
The Crazy in Love singer is currently in the midst of her world tour, The Mrs. Carter Show, during which she posted photos to her Instagram account of a few of her vegan meals.
Apparently she was still able to stay energized while on tour.
According to the LA Times, the menu for the diet's first day included vanilla chia pudding with one cup fresh berries for breakfast; crunchy red cabbage and green apple sesame slaw with one cup steamed, cubed sweet potato (or one small sweet potato, baked) for lunch, 1/4 cup hemp hummus with fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, romaine leaves, bell pepper, etc.) for an afternoon snack; black bean and quinoa salad with quick cumin dressing for dinner and dark chocolate for dessert.
