New addition to the team! Roger Federer and wife Mirka celebrate the holidays with news they'll be parents for a third time
Tennis ace Roger Federer and wife Mirka have announced that they are expecting their third child.
The couple already have twin daughters who were born in July 2009.
Mirka and I are very happy to share the news that Myla & Charlene will be big sisters in 2014! Happy holidays.'
Roger's agent, Tony Godsick, also confirmed the news of the impending bundle being delivered to the Federer household.
The 32-year-old tennis champ has won a record 17 Grand Slam singles titles and spent more weeks at #1 in the rankings than anyone else in the history of the ATP rankings.
Roger has become one of a select few athletes who transcend sport, as illustrated by a poll of 50,000 people across 25 countries two years ago.
When presented with a list of 54 global figures it found that he was ranked, in terms of trust and respect, second only to Nelson Mandela.
His staggering consistency is further shown in the streak of 36 quarter-finals or better that stretched up to this summer’s Wimbledon.
All over the world Roger has played incredible matches although never more so than at Wimbledon. He found the perfect foil in Rafael Nadal to set up a rivalry for the ages and their 2008 final at the All England Club is considered by some as the finest sustained display of tennis ever witnessed.
When it comes to charitable efforts few have done more including, without great fanfare, running a huge personal foundation dedicated to improving the lives of children in Africa.
Roger has been more responsible than anyone for the current era of tennis player-as-good-guy.
