Katy Perry finally sells Los Angeles home she bought with ex Russell Brand for $5.565m... at a staggering $900k loss
Katy Perry has sold her Los Angeles home at last - to an undisclosed buyer for $5.565 million, according to The Los Angeles Times.
The singer, who bought the Mediterranean style property with ex-husband Russell Brand in 2011 for $6.5 million - initially listed the 8,835-square-foot home back in April.
She recently slashed the price down to $6.5 million and then again to $5,988,000 to attract a bid, RadarOnline reported.
It certainly worked and although Katy lost $935,000 on the deal, she at least found someone to take the pad off her hands.
Heidi Klum was at one time reported to be interested in buying the breathtaking property
She was reported to be house hunting in Los Angeles with her boyfriend, Martin Kristen, and looking for a 'family home' which would provide for her four children: Leni, nine, Henry, seven, Johan, six, and Lou, three.
The couple - who got together last year in the wake of Heidi's split from husband Seal - was said to be keen on Katy's house because all of the children's bedrooms are on the same floor as the master bedroom.
According to website TMZ.com, Heidi was impressed with the seven bedroom, 11 bathroom estate, situated in the Hollywood Hills.
Katy purchased the mansion in 2011 with then-husband Russell Brand.
They had plans to renovate the home before moving in, which sadly never came to fruition before they split in December of the same year.
The property was built in 1921 and boasts a pool with a waterfall, a garden, a carriage house and two guest suites.
Ironically, the removal vans had never moved their furniture inside before the couple got divorced and the huge property has remained empty ever since.
Katy officially listed the home in April 2013 but has further slashed the price in a bid to attract a buyer.
Located behind the star studded Chateau Marmont Hotel, the property has a lushly landscaped backyard containing a lagoon-style pool with waterfall and small bridges.
Katy, 28, has already moved on in the property stakes since her divorce from Russell.
She splashed-out $11.5 million on two adjacent properties in the Hollywood Hills - on one of the lots is a contemporary 2,916 square feet living space while on the other is a 3,884 square feet Spanish style home.
Katy, meanwhile, was left speechless when Stevie Nicks dedicated the song Landslide to her and John Mayer on Monday night at a Fleetwood Mac concert in Las Vegas.
Using his girlfriend's Twitter account, John wrote: 'John here. Katy can't write because she's getting over Stevie Nicks dedicating Landslide to us at the Fleetwood Mac concert. Unforgettable.
'While I'm at it I have a couple things I'd like to get off my-oh, she's motioning for the phone back. Gotta go!! -JM.'
Katy has previously spoken of her love for Stevie, 65, and her music, and told how earlier this year they met for tea in London.
'She is a beautiful woman. She just has so many little nuggets of wisdom and sees straight through my soul,' Katy told SiriusXM Radio.
'And she's very kind... I'm so honoured that she would make time for me. I like hearing what people who have gone before me have to say about all this stuff.'
The respect is mutual, as Stevie has previously said she could relate to Katy's song The One That Got Away.
Speaking of that track, Stevie told Jam: 'About a minute in, I just began to cry. It reminded me of my own life and losses, and of the last fight that [Fleetwood Mac bandmate and ex-partner] Lindsey Buckingham and I had.
'By the time it ended, I said, "Well, that's just the saddest thing I've ever seen!" That was exactly the reaction she wanted.'
