'It's a girl!' Pregnant Nadine Coyle reveals she's expecting a baby daughter with boyfriend Jason Bell
Nadine Coyle and Jason Bell are expecting a baby girl.
The 28-year-old singer posted a snap of a duck-shaped baby shower balloon bearing the phrase, 'It's A Girl', on her Instagram page shortly after the clock struck midnight on New Calender Year's Eve.
While the Girls Aloud beauty didn't offer any further details to her fans, she was quickly inundated with well-wishers from her followers, who assumed she had given birth.
But she was quick to assure fans she was yet to welcome her bundle of joy into the world, writing: 'Thank you for all your lovely messages. She is not born yet. That is a baby shower balloon. We can't wait until she is. Loads of love! Xx'
Nadine recently told of her shock at discovering she was pregnant - and said she was the least likely of her bandmates to have a baby first.
The Northern Irish beauty revealed she was expecting last summer but did not say who the father was - leading to much speculation about his identity.
But in an interview with Hello! in October she confirmed she was back with her ex-fiancé Jason Bell, a former American football player, and that he was the father.
The pretty star said: ‘I think we just forgot to tell everyone we were together.
‘When I said I was pregnant I thought, 'Why's everyone wondering who it is? Then I remembered, 'Oh yes, that's right. I do stuff on TV and people are confused. So this clears it up!’
Derry-born Coyle explained she had not been as keen as some of her bandmates to have children.
‘I think I was the least likely to be the first to have a baby, It would always come up,’ she said.
‘A couple of the other girls had wanted babies for a long time but I said no way... It was definitely a shock, but I was really, really happy.’
Bell said: ‘I've never felt excitement like this in my whole life. Knowing we're having a baby takes it to another level.’
Girls Aloud called it a day after a recent tour, but Coyle said she hoped that at some point they would team up once more.
‘I didn't want it to end - but the sequins, the wings and a bump wouldn't have been a good look. I loved the reunion and hopefully one day we will get back together to do something else.’
Nadine and Jason, who is divorced from his first wife Kimberly, started dating in 2008 and announced their engagement in September 2010.
However, by June 2011, they had separated with Nadine insisting they were 'great friends'.
In March this year, Nadine and Jason sparked speculation they had reignited their romance when he flew to London to watch her perform with Girl Aloud on their farewell tour.
