According to NEMA's coordinator in the city of Jos, Mohammed Abdulsalam, 118 bodies have been recovered and the death toll could rise further.
Abdulsalam explained that more bodies may be in the debris” of buildings which collapsed due to the intensity of the blasts.
He added that 56 people were injured in the twin blasts.
Meanwhile the Plateau state commissioner of police, Chris Olakpe said earlier that 46 people were killed and 45 others were injured.
"We are saying 46. That’s the number we have in the morgues. But we are not ruling out more bodies," Chris said.
The military said that improvised explosive devices were hidden inside a truck and a minibus and went off within 20 minutes of each other.
According to eyewitnesses, the first explosion sounded at about 2:55 PM while the second happened about 10 metres away at about 3:20 PM around the same area.
Earlier reports on Sahara Reporters and CNN had stated that over 200 people were killed.
However, it was gathered from an official of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, that scores of victims were injured in the explosions.
