All for the sake of ART... POP: Lady Gaga braves the worst storm to hit Britain in a decade... in a dress made of crepe paper

Even the worst storm to hit Britain in a decade wasn’t enough to halt Lady Gaga’s increasingly bizarre promotional campaign for her latest album, ARTPOP.
Indeed, St. Jude’s Day storm has swept across the United Kingdom, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake and many beleaguered commuters stranded as public transport ground to a sudden halt.
But while the wind howled, Lady Gaga was taking the next outlandish step in her bid for maximum exposure ahead of her third album’s release on November 8.

The 28-year-old singer wasn’t exactly hard to miss as she left her London hotel on Monday afternoon sporting a ruffled ivory coloured dress that appeared to be made out of crepe paper.
Given the fierce conditions it was a bold choice and fortunately for Gaga the rain held off as she made her way towards a waiting car.
The outfit was matched with an intricate headdress that sat atop the long blonde wig she previously wore for a live appearance on The X Factor on Sunday night.

Gaga rounded things off in her own inimitable way – by slathering her body in white body paint and daubing her lips with garish, mottled red.
The look had a vaguely shamanistic air and echoed her appearance on the cover art for Applause – the lead single from her forthcoming long player.
Her outing on Monday followed an equally memorable appearance at the Fountain Studios in Wembley the previous night, where she performed two new tracks – Venus and current single Do What U Want.

Performing with a troupe of scantily clad dancers, Gaga took to the stage in flesh coloured lingerie reminiscent of the outfit worn by Miley Cyrus during her notorious performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards.
But while there was no twerking on Sunday evening’s X Factor, there were plenty of memorable moments as the singer danced and gyrated in front of a backdrop depicting Botticelli’s Birth Of Venus.
Gaga later drew a very public line under her year long feud with judge Sharon Osbourne by racing off the stage to give her a warm embrace.

Promotional track Venus – originally intended to be the second single from ARTPOP before it was downgraded in favour of Do What U want, featuring R. Kelly – became available for download immediately after her performance.
Her latest outfit is just the latest in a string of outlandish ensemble's worn by the star over the course of an eventful weekend.
Having kicked things off in a willowy white dress for a piece of performance art in Berlin, Gaga has since adopted variations on a similar theme for arrival in London, followed shortly afterwards by a performance at G-A-Y - during which she stripped off.
The  singer also drilled home the Botticelli theme that provided the inspiration for her latest track by wearing a Birth Of Venus print dress from Dolce & Gabbana for a rehearsal at the Ring Gym in London on Saturday.
