Yesterday, former Aviation Minister, member of the All Progressives Congress opposition party and critic of current President's administration, Femi Fani-Kayode had a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
Little is known about the things they had discussed, but Nigerian media were quick to assert that Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has decamped from the APC to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party. More so, Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media Reno Omokri and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs Doyin Okupe were among prominent Nigerians who took to their various social media accounts to "welcome" Mr. Fani-Kayode to their ranks.
Briefing journalists after the closed-door meeting with President Jonathan yesterday, he stressed the right of every Nigerian to visit the Villa. He admitted there is a disagreement on a certain matters between the leadership of the APC and himself (namely, the APC's alleged plans to field two Muslims as presidential candidate and running mate for the 2015 general elections), but he would announce his decision to stay or leave when the time comes.
Today, the prominent Nigerian politician has developed the idea expressed on Twitter via his Facebook account. In his post, he noted that the Presidency "belongs to every Nigerian irrespective of religious and political persuasions". The APC governors and leaders who interact with the President do not automatically become members of the PDP.
"This is not about leaving parties but about principle," Fani-Kayode added, expressing hope that leaders of the APC would clarify matters as soon as possible "and assure us all that they will do no such thing."

After declaring his support for Fani-Kayode's alleged "move", Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs Doyin Okupe became involved in a couple of arguments with Nigerian citizens who criticized both Fani-Kayode and Okupe for his support:
