Northern Governors to Meet in Abuja On Thursday
According to Sahara Reporters, Northern governors are to meet on Thursday, April 24, to address a number of issues plaguing Nigeria, such as insecurity and the crisis between northern herdsmen and farmers.
Members of the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) will sit down with the Miyetti Allah Fulani Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to find solutions to the constant crises between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the region. The Forum will also discuss the concerns raised by Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State about the insurgency in the North.
Various parts of Nigeria have been targeted several times in the past week by Boko Haram insurgents. About 80 people were killed and scores sustained injuries when a powerful explosion shook a busy bus station in Nyanya, Abuja's suburb, while over 200 school girls were kidnapped in the town of Chibok in Borno state.
